Abstract
Salmonellosis is primary gastrointestinal tract infection, however it may localize to one site in the body, often producing characteristic clinical syndrome. Localized salmonella infection frequently occurs during salmonella bacteremia, but may also occur with enteric fever or gastroenteritis. We experienced 28 salmonellosis isolated from extraintestinal sites, 6.4% of all salmonella isolates, from 1983 to 1990 in Hanyang University Hospital. Contrary to foreign reports S. trphi was the major organism and also S. typhzmurrum, S. munchen, S. blegdam were isolated. e reviewed these organism and clinical manifestations of these patients in order to understand the pathogenesis of extraintestinal salmonellosis
